House in Colares

This project results in a home characterized by clear functional logic and a balanced relationship between spaces, uses, and privacy. It features a spacious living room, a functional and family-friendly kitchen, a private area with three suites, a pool, and well-lit interior spaces that open onto the outdoors. A single-story home.

A project focused on moderation.

The house is composed of compact, regular volumes, with large openings facing south and west and smaller ones facing north and east, creating a contrast between glass and white concrete. The slight slope of the lot allows for a continuous balcony in front of the bedrooms, while in the living room, the interior extends out to an outdoor terrace and pool. The separation between the social and private areas is achieved through a glass-enclosed passageway that flows seamlessly into the outdoor terrace.

With its contemporary design, the house reflects a careful attention to the way people live. The relationship between the program, the site, and the context is evident; by adapting to its users, it enhances the dense pine forest landscape, creating a new sense of place.

The project reduces formal, structural, and material elements to the essentials.

The large glass surfaces reinforce the connection between the interior and exterior in the living areas and bedrooms, while the utility area retains a more enclosed feel.
