Alcoutins House

Located on the Quinta dos Alcoutins golf course, the house is built on a steeply sloping lot, a factor that has shaped the organization and layout of the spaces.

The main entrance is located on the upper level. The private areas are on the middle level. The lower level houses the parking and utility areas, with direct access to the golf course’s fairway.

Based on a concept of continuous, fluid spaces that interact with the outdoors, the house opens up to the landscape while shielding itself from the surrounding views.

The roof draws inspiration from Portuguese rural architecture, tropical vegetation, and a relaxed way of life. It unfolds as a surface of sloping planes, clad in zinc on the exterior and walnut wood on the interior. Its geometry creates patterns that filter natural light.

The living areas flow seamlessly into the main terrace through a large, sunken space, reinforcing the connection between the interior and exterior. The home benefits from a relaxing natural setting highlighted by the presence of the golf course.

The minimalist use of materials—white, natural wood, and microcement—highlights the balance between architecture, atmosphere, and landscape.
